Paramount is sidestepping Netflix, Blockbuster Movie Pass, and cable/satellite providers by streaming "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" directly to customers until the end of February. The rental will be the studio's first extended offering — it previously offered the "Jackass" movies on Facebook and streamed the first two "Transformers" movies for two weeks in June — and Paramount says it's "a little toe-dip" towards future distribution strategies. The movie's currently available on Silverlight-compatible browsers, with the SD version for $3.99 available to everyone and a $4.99 HD stream for HDCP-compatible Windows PCs.
