Gmail iOS app returns to the App Store

The native Gmail application for iOS has returned, this time without the unsightly notifications bug that spoiled its launch two weeks ago.

The Gmail application has returned to Apple's App Store today, following a two-week absence enforced by some teething issues encountered upon its November 2nd launch. We've downloaded and installed it again, and indeed, we're no longer greeted by error messages. Google says it has corrected the notifications bug that plagued the initial launch on iOS, and it should be all smooth sailing from here.

To give it a try yourself, you should make sure to uninstall or log out of the earlier Gmail app — that's a prerequisite for getting the updated version 1.0.2 to work. Also required is an iOS 4+ device, which actually covers most of the recent generation iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches.
