In October, MG Siegler reported that Google was developing a native Gmail app, and it turns out the rumors are true. After years of waiting, Gmail is finally available from the iOS App Store for the iPhone and iPad, offering the full label, starring, and archiving experience that's been such a hit on Android. Yes, it's got push notifications, threaded conversations, photo upload capability, full account search, Priority Inbox, searching, and integration with both your device's address book and your Google contacts. The iPad brings split screen view, though it looks like Google used the same pane view that the new Facebook iPhone app employs to access the navigation under the main message list. Update: Many users, including The Verge team, are seeing a notification "no valid 'aps-environment' error entitlement" error on the first launch of the app on both the iPhone and iPad.
