Apple's forthcoming iTunes Match music streaming service hasn't been released to the general public yet, but Apple is laying the groundwork for the launch. In addition to iTunes Match settings popping up in iOS 5 and iTunes 10.5, the latest sign is a menu item for iTunes match on the Apple TV. The option is appearing for both developers and regular users this time, but regular users will be stymied if they try to use it as only developers can activate iTunes Match on their computers.
We expected the public launch of iTunes Match to be imminent after Apple cleared out developers' iCloud music libraries, but instead Apple chose to release another iTunes Beta to developers to continue testing the service. Still, despite what appear to be delays, the Apple TV update is another sign that the service should be launching soon.
