Lenovo seems to keep branching out into new product lines. Nearly a month ago we saw some pictures from China of a mysterious Windows Phone that was said to be made by Lenovo. Today we have confirmation from Lenovo's LePhone Product Manager, Yue Chen, that the phone in the pictures is real, and that Lenovo is "indeed currently considering a Windows Phone-based LePhone product, and we already have a clear release schedule — it will be released during the second half of 2012." It's not clear if the actual phone above will ever make it to market — it's certainly possible that it is just a prototype (the hardware looks quite like the Android-powered LePhone S2). The news isn't completely unexpected, as we heard Lenovo was in talks with Microsoft concerning Windows Phone back in December. We'll let you know more when we hear it.
