Swann is best known for making surveillance equipment, but they're making a play for the daring helmet-cam crowd with their wearable $279.99 Freestyle HD camera. The camera is waterproof up to 65 feet, shoots 1080p video at 30fps, and has a detachable 1.5-inch LCD viewer which displays video capture in real time — Swann didn't fill in many details about the LCD though, so we're not really sure why being able to detach it is useful. The camera has a 3x digital zoom and can take 8-megapixel JPEG photos, and you can hook it right up to an HDTV for playback or use microSD or USB for transferring files. Swann quotes a 2.5-hour life for its rechargeable battery, which should be plenty of time to record all of your wipeouts.
The pricing and features are pretty competitive with the recently announced GoPro HD Hero 2, so you've got some decisions to make if you're in the market — be sure to check out our comparison of similar cameras.
