The web version of the Android Market has been updated with new sorting and display options that make it easier to separate the useful reviews from the unhelpful ones. Instead of relying on users to leave relevant info, each review now automatically displays both the device that the app was reviewed on and which version was reviewed. The update also allows users to filter reviews by those two criteria or sort by helpfulness, date, or rating. These new features should help developers pin down incompatible devices and buggy versions, while users will be able to easily focus on reviews that are relevant to their particular device and the most current version of an app. The functionality hasn't been brought to the Android Market app yet, so if you want to make a more informed decision next time you're making a purchase, be sure to check out the Market on the web.
