Just days after updating its desktop browser, Mozilla has released version 9.0 of Firefox for Android with an interface makeover tailored for tablets. Featuring specific portrait and landscape modes to take advantage of the extra screen real estate on larger devices, the app also adds a new tabbed interface for moving between open pages as well as your browsing history and bookmarks. A revised control layout offers one-touch bookmarking and easier access to settings. Mozilla claims to have addressed some of the complaints about sluggish performance as well, and under the hood the app now offers direct access to a device's camera. Those hoping for a truly full-featured browsing experience may be left wanting, however: the app still doesn't support tweaking user agents, and plug-in support has yet to arrive. The update is available now.
