    Apple's pulled iPod Click Wheel Games from iTunes, lending credence to rumors that classic iPods may be on their way out.

    With Apple's yearly iPhone event just days away the focus has been on new gear, but a recent change in the iTunes App Store may reveal what's going away. As noted by AppleInsider, Apple has pulled the iPod Click Wheel Games section from the iTunes App Store altogether, lending further credence to rumors that both the venerable iPod classic and the iPod shuffle may may be nearing their final days. These more traditional iPods were of paramount importance in Apple's resurgence over the past decade, but have diminished in sales with each of the company's successive record-setting quarters.

    Don't feel left out if you haven't noticed the missing titles. Apple started selling click-wheel versions of games like Tetris and Pac-Man back in 2006 for $4.99 each, but the capability has been almost completely deemphasized since iOS was opened to third-party apps.
