Despite the ill fortunes of many tablet-makers who aren't named Apple, Dell reportedly is planning to launch a consumer-focused tablet by the end of 2012. Despite already trying its hand with the Dell Streak, the company has been keeping its eye on the competition and has been waiting for the right time to re-enter the market. According to Reuters, Dell has said it's being very cautious about its next steps in the market but is ready for a major push for the end of the year. What isn't known is whether or not this tablet will run Windows 8 or Android — an older roadmap showed Dell planning tablets running both operating systems, but nothing ever materialized. Apparently, Dell is planning to make these tablets more compatible with the business world despite the consumer focus — we'll see consumers respond to this strategy.
