Time Warner Cable TV iOS app updated, now streaming live TV to iPhone

Time Warner Cable updated its TWC TV app today to support the iPhone 3GS, 4, and 4S. Unlike its Android counterpart, the app offers live streaming television so long as you're on your home's Wi-Fi network.

It sure looks like Time Warner Cable customers may want to consider iOS over Android: the TWC TV app is now bringing live TV to both iPads and iPhones, thanks to an update that's just rolled in. Sure, there's an Android version of the app (it came out for tablets and phones last year), but neither of those support TV streaming yet — they only let you browse the channel guide and set DVR recordings.

In case you've forgotten, the TWC TV app (which originally launched for just the iPad) lets you watch live TV from certain channels so long as you're on your local Wi-Fi network. The updated app is available now, and requires an iPhone 3GS, 3rd generation iPod touch, original iPad or newer.
