It's been quite awhile since we've heard much from Inq, whose Cloud Touch smartphone with deep Facebook integration hasn't exactly set the world aflame. Back at Mobile World Congress 2011, Inq had also shown off a sibling phone, the Cloud Q that added a physical QWERTY keyboard to the same basic phone. The Cloud Q never arrived, however, and Inq has apparently decided to pull the plug, telling Electricpig that "After a lot of analysis through the back end of 2011 we made a tough decision to pull the Cloud Q from the INQ roadmap to focus efforts on our future products."
Given that the Cloud Q had a 2.6-inch screen, a 600MHz processor, and Android 2.2, we can't say we blame Inq for recognizing that it wouldn't compete in 2012 — no matter how deeply Facebook was integrated. Inq expects that instead it will release another phone in the second half of the year, so we'll have a long wait to see what the company's followup will be.
