If you're one of the lucky owners of a TiVo Premiere DVR, it's time to check to see if you're twice lucky. TiVo has rolled out an update to a random few that adds multi-room streaming between TiVo boxes, updated guide and program info screens in proper HD, Hulu Plus search integration, and a few other new features. While the HD guide will surely be the most-noticed change and hit immediately, apparently multi-room streaming won't be turned on until the update reaches everybody. When it does, however, it will ignore "Copy Once" flags within TiVo's system since it's a streaming solution.
TiVo Vice President of User Experience, Margret Schmidt, has been tweeting about the update and notes that only "some" have received the update, all others will have to wait "a few weeks." However, Schmidt has also said that Twitter followers can hit her up and she may be able to get your update out a bit early. Sadly, if your TiVo Premiere was provisioned by your cable company, you'll need to wait a bit longer still, Schmidt believes it will come "most likely sometime this Spring."
Finally, TiVo has released an official remote app for Android which will allow you to browse your channel guide, schedule recordings, search, and choose between "a TiVo remote replica" or a "gesture-based remote control." It should work on all versions of Android 2.1 and up and 7-inch tablets and some features will only be available to customers with a TiVo Premiere DVR.
Update: A comment left by an apparent TiVo employee says, "support for tablets above 7-inches is coming soon as well."
