The SD Association has formalized a standard for wireless data communication, theoretically cutting the cords for digital photo transfer. The standard uses wireless 802.11/a/b/g/n and applies to cards across the SD spectrum — SD/SDHC/SDXC in both full and micro sizes will be supported. While there have been previous efforts in this space from companies such as Eye-Fi and Toshiba, the standardization could potentially spark much wider adoption from manufacturers.
