With the likes of Dishonored and XCOM: Enemy Unknown now available, there's no shortage of new releases to play. But if you're in the mood for something a little more retro there's always Streemerz. The 8-bit-style game owes a lot to the NES classic Bionic Commando, forcing players to traverse its environments using a grappling hook instead of jumping. But the hook isn't just good for swinging around — you can launch it quickly enough to actually climb up walls and even ceilings. This doesn't make it an easy game, however, so expect plenty of challenge, even on the easier mode. Also, for some reason, the bad guys are all clowns.

Streemerz has actually been around for some time in the form of a browser game, but if you're looking for an extra dose of retro it has recently been re-released as an NES ROM. This means that you can play it on your favorite emulator, or, if you're feeling particularly nostalgic, you could put it on an NES flash cart and play the game on an actual console. Either way, there's plenty to do in the game, with multiple modes to play through and plenty of cream pies to avoid — you can check it out now at the source links below.
