According to a new report from 9to5Mac, the fabled iPad mini won't be the only tablet talk at Apple's press event next week, with sources now claiming that the company's 9.7-inch model will also undergo a refresh. The site claims that the full-sized iPad will not receive a comprehensive redesign, but instead will undergo a number of minor upgrades, which are expected to include integration of Apple's Lightning connector. The new and improved iPad will not, however, expand upon the current storage capacity or pricing structure of the current model. The refresh would come within a year of the latest iPad's introduction, which may become a sore spot for early adopters. However, as it demonstrated earlier this year with its quiet revisions to the iPad 2, Apple is unafraid to make less substantive tweaks to its existing products.

Apple's event is scheduled for Tuesday, October 23rd, at 10:00AM PST, and we'll be there live blogging. Tune in to find out if a refreshed iPad will be joining the iPad mini and a 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display as part of Apple's rumored agenda.
