Today, Logitech announced the newest addition to its neglected Harmony remote line, the Harmony Touch. The new Harmony Touch is the long-awaited successor to the Harmony One, which launched back in 2008. Unsurprisingly, the new remote features fewer buttons and a 2.4-inch touchscreen, which can be customized to show the icons of your favorite channels for easy, quick access. The touchscreen also features customizable gestures, like swiping forward and back to fast forward or rewind, or tapping to play or pause. Those who already own a Harmony remote can carry over their existing settings using the newly updated MyHarmony.com.

We're not so sure that the $249.99 price is worthwhile when it's possible to repurpose an old smartphone to do the same thing with a wireless IR blaster (like Logitech's Harmony Link). However, it may be the perfect product for those looking for a user-friendly, customizable remote, and have the cash to spare. As for availability, the Harmony Touch is "expected" this month in the US and Europe, but there's no word on when it will come to other regions.
