When Apple made the move from MobileMe to iCloud, it offered a bonus to users that used the former service: a bump in storage capacity, free of charge. That had been scheduled to expire the past Sunday, September 30th, but as first noticed by AppleInsider the offer has been extended for an additional year.

The extension, detailed to former MobileMe customers via email and on Apple's support site, provides qualifying users with a storage bump to match what they'd been paying for with MobileMe; if you had a 20GB plan, you'll continue to get an extra 20GB of storage on top of the 5GB iCloud offers for free. No action is required on the part of the user, with the extension running through September 30th, 2013.
