Apple has launched a one-day promotion in its Australian store, which may hint at the discounts Americans can expect to see on Black Friday. The biggest deals are on the MacBook line, with the Pro, Pro with Retina Display, and Air all $105 off. Meanwhile, iPads have seen a price drop of $41 while the most recent iPod touch is $31 cheaper. The sale also includes a number of accessories — ranging from Smart Covers to the Magic Mouse to EarPods — most of which are $11 off the sticker price. Of course there's no guarantee that these are the same discounts that will appear in the US store, but with Black Friday looming it won't be long before we find out.

Update: The US deals are now live reflecting the same percentage discounts (about 10 percent for computers and up to 30 percent for third-party accessories) we've already seen across the globe. Remember, Best Buy is offering the $100 iTunes gift card for $80 to help fill those iOS devices with content.

Of course, even with Apple's Black Friday discounts, it's worth looking at third-party retailers to see if you can get a better deal today. For example, the base 13-inch MacBook Air costs $1098 with Apple's discount applied, but you can grab the same model for just $1024.99 through Amazon.
