In an interview last Friday, Google's director of business development for Android, John Lagerling, spoke with The New York Times about the Nexus program, Motorola, and Android in general. Lagerling is the man responsible for negotiating the prices of Google's new Nexus 4, updated Nexus 7, and Nexus 10. When asked why Google decided to push a larger, 10-inch tablet, the director said the category was "overpriced and underpowered, and we wanted to see what we could do." Lagerling also reiterated that Google-owned Motorola won't get preferential treatment: it has to "bid on doing a Nexus device just like any other company."
