Samsung has just announced that its Galaxy Camera will be available across the UK from November 8th. The Galaxy Camera runs Android 4.1 and has a similar interface to Samsung's Galaxy line of smartphones. Unlike Nokia's 808 PureView, this connected camera doesn't actually make phone calls, although it does have access to Google Play and apps like Skype. It's a camera first and foremost, then, and has a 16-megapixel 1/2.3" sensor and an f/2.8 21x optical zoom lens to prove it.

The Galaxy Camera will be available at a range of stores, including phone shops like Carphone Warehouse and Phones 4U, as well as traditional camera retailers like Jessops. If you don't want to wait until November 8th, Samsung says the device will be available a day early at its flagship store in Stratford from November 7th. Strangely, despite the release date being just two days away, there's no word on official pricing just yet, but Jessops is pricing the camera at £399.99 — we'll update you if Samsung tells us differently. In the meantime, you can check out our full preview of the Galaxy Camera or watch our hands-on video below.
