Twitter introduced a new look for user profiles back in September (alongside a somewhat-controversial redesign of its iPad app), but now it is finally getting around to rolling the new look out to everyone. While it seemed like Twitter's new profile pages rolled out pretty quickly following that announcement, they will finally be available to all users this December 12th. While there's really no new functionality in the new user profile, the user-customizable background is a nice touch — and plays well when compared with the "cover photo" now found on Facebook timelines, not to mention a similar design element found on Google+ profiles. It's not clear why it took Twitter nearly three months to roll these new profiles out to its entire user base, but as of Wednesday you can stop clicking refresh and crossing your fingers.
