WordPress today released version 3.5 of its popular blogging platform, with the latest update focused heavily on media sharing. The company has completely revamped its workflow for uploading content with a new drag-and-drop system that allows users to quickly reorganize galleries and add metadata/tags to large batches of photos at once. The improvements in usability are a necessary step if WordPress hopes to become a photo sharing destination in the same vein as Tumblr, its massively-successful competitor. With WordPress 3.5, blog owners also have access to a new default theme, Twenty Twelve, with a minimalistic, responsive design that's been optimized for display across screens both big and small. WordPress 3.5 is available for download from the company's website.
