Flipboard officially launched on Android back in May, but for tablet users it epitomized the common "blown-up phone apps" criticism; the app worked great on phones, but using it on a larger screen was a frustrating exercise in flipping through giant text and tiles. That all changes today, with a new version of the reading app that offers true support for 7- and 10-inch tablets. Tiles are properly proportioned, you can see more than one story at once, and we've found the experience on a Nexus 7 to be a vast improvement. If you happen to prefer the way things were before, however, you can always switch the app back into "phone mode." The new version of Flipboard will be free and available in the Google Play Store today.
