Moog Music released version 2.0 of its Animoog synth app for the iPad today. The updated Animoog builds on the original'

s wacky controls and design with new features such as accelerometer support, extended controls, better MIDI support, and a new four-track recorder add-on.

The coolest parts of the update are the accelerometer support, which lets you move and tilt the iPad to modulate sound parameters on the synth, and the four-track recorder. The add-on, which is free through the end of the year, $4.99 after that, lets you record, edit, loop, import from iTunes, and export to Soundcloud without ever having to leave the Animoog app.

Animoog 2.0 is available as a free update for existing users. New users can pick it up for $14.99, half off of its regular price, through the end of the year. Moog says that it also plans to release a Grateful Dead sound expansion pack for the app in the near future.
