Everyone seems to have an opinion on the demise of the iPad-only news publication The Daily, but it’s all too easy to forget that a slew of talented writers are losing their jobs as a result of the close. Former employee Peter Ha reminisces on Gizmodo about the start of The Daily, presenting a frank account of the inner workings of the company while putting some misconceptions to rest in the process. Despite the good working atmosphere and sense of accomplishment, the publication wasn't meant to be — as Ha notes in his piece, "The Daily had every chance of flourishing and succeeding, but operating independently of the Internet as a whole was clearly a huge mistake."
