During today's Nintendo Direct presentation, the company announced that Wii Fit U will launch sometime in the first part of 2013. One of Wii Fit U's distinguishing features is the addition of the Fit Meter, a pedometer — similar in design to the Pokéwalker introduced with Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver — that allows you to record your physical activity outside of the living room and upload your stats to the console. The exercise platform will launch with 77 activities including Bobsledding, Trampoline Target, a new dancing category, and other modes carried over from Wii Fit Plus. Nintendo may miss the holiday sales rush, but only time will tell if Wii Fit U will match the sales of its predecessor.
