Following the announcement that G4's gaming shows X-Play and Attack of the Show would be cancelled by the end of this year, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that the entire network will be rebranded as the Esquire Channel. In September, reports surfaced that the NBCUniversal-owned network would like to shift its focus from "geeky content" to shows that would appeal to the "modern male." According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Esquire Channel will still have gaming content — though likely not in the vein of X-Play — but will also have cooking, travel, and fashion shows in an attempt to appeal to its new target demographic. The rebrand will reportedly take place in the first half of 2013, so enjoy those Ninja Warrior reruns while you still can.
