Ceton has announced a price cut for both models of its digital cable tuner: the InfiniTV 4 PCIe and InfiniTV 4 USB. Both tuners will now retail for $199 — down from $299 — and the price cut is already in effect at a number of online retailers including Amazon and Newegg. Once installed, the InfiniTV 4 will let you watch and record up to four HD channels at once and stream both live and recorded video — including premium cable content — to multiple TVs around the house, essentially turning your PC into a cheaper set-top box replacement. The PCIe version of the tuner is installed internally and requires a free PCIe slot, while the external USB version simply needs to be plugged into a USB port. Both tuners require Windows 7, a 2.0 GHz or faster dual-core processor, and a Multi-stream CableCard from any US cable provider. The price change may have to do with the previously announced six-channel tuner Ceton is working on, though no details on price or availability have been revealed just yet.
