If you're an iOS user who relies on Skype for communication, there are freshly-updated iPhone and iPad apps waiting for you to download. The biggest change you'll notice is that the chat interface and the dialpad have been revamped, but there's only so many ways to display that sort of information, so the changes feel relatively minor. Perhaps more important are under-the-hood fixes to make the app more stable for the man users who now run iOS 5, as well as some unspecified "bug fixes." The new iPad version is unchanged visually, but will benefit from the aforementioned bug fixes and stability enhancements for iOS 5. Unfortunately, a few users are complaining that this update is still relatively unstable, so it might not be long before we see another update available.
