Micron has acted swiftly after the accident that claimed the life of CEO Steve Appleton, today naming chief operating officer Mark Durcan as CEO until a successor is found. Durcan, a 27-year veteran of the company, had intended to retire this August, but was named to the role by Micron's board after agreeing to serve as a temporary replacement. Head of sales Mark Adam was named the new company president. "I have provided the board my ongoing commitment to work with the management team and continue to move the company forward," Durcan said in a statement. "We are deeply saddened by Steve's loss and will miss his hand at the helm."
