Samsung has released more details about its Android 4.0 update rollout for the Galaxy S II. Having already made it available in its native South Korea, Poland, Sweden and Hungary, the company has now told us the UK will be among the next wave of upgrade countries, receiving the software in the week starting March 19th. That date is subject to carriers approving the upgraded Android plus TouchWiz combo, which may delay things by a few extra days (or weeks).

"Samsung UK can confirm that the roll out of Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) on Galaxy S II will be available from week commencing 19th March, however the availability of software upgrades in the UK will be dependent upon each network’s own software approvals process."

If you're not sufficiently patient to wait for the fully official update, the European ROM for the GSII is already available to download from the usual suspects: xda and MoDaCo.
