Acer is bringing its iF Product Design Award-winning S235HL monitor to the USA, with its distinctive off-center mount, controls on the angular base, and silver highlights. It's not all looks, though — inside the sleek casing is a 23-inch LCD panel with a 1920 x 1080 resolution, 5ms response time, and 100,000,000:1 contrast ratio, with LED backlights providing 250 nits of brightness. The base also holds all of the monitor inputs, making for a neater desktop and less clutter, though oddly there's no DVI input, with Acer providing a single VGA port and a pair of HDMI ins. The price to pay for all this style? $219 when it arrives in April.
Along with the S235HL, Acer's also introducing four more LCDs — one 20-inch, two 23 inches and one 27-inch panel. The S200HL is a 20-inch, 1600 x 900 display with 5ms response time, 100,000,000:1 contrast ratio and both DVI and VGA inputs. It costs $139, and is available now.
The S230HL Abd and S230 HL Abii share the same 1920 x 1080 panel, again with 5ms response and 100,000,000:1 contrast ratio. However, while the Abd pairs single DVI and VGA inputs, the Abii copies the S235HL with a pair of HDMI inputs paired with a single VGA, mounted on a similar asymmetrical stand. Both are available now, with the Abd costing $169 and the Abii running to $189.
Finally, the S271HL offers a 27-inch LCD panel with the same 1920 x 1080 resolution, 5ms repsonse time, and 100,000,000:1 contrast ratio of the 23-inch units. It's due to arrive in April, with an MSRP of $329.
