RIM has confirmed that the BB10 OS will be coming to the BlackBerry PlayBook. Rob Orr, RIM's VP of product management, told TechRadar that there isn't a specific timeframe for an update, but the first BB10 handset will be released "towards the end of 2012," and "at some point after the launch we'll bring BB10 to our PlayBooks." Although BlackBerry 10 will be the first smartphone OS based on the QNX platform, the PlayBook already uses QNX, which makes it an easy target for an update. While it would be difficult to be any more vague about a date than saying "at some point," its certainly good to see RIM moving with the times and committing to long-term updates for its tablet.
