The Droid Fighter has been rumored since February, but we've known little about the phone except a possible release date of April 12th. Now, we may be getting our first look at this Android pugilist. A member of the MFUNZ forums has posted a picture of what he says is a new Motorola phone that could be the Droid Fighter. The phone looks very similar to the RAZR Maxx (pictured, it looks like, to the right of the new phone), but the RAZR's capacitive buttons have been replaced with a large Verizon logo. It also looks like some of the bezel has been trimmed away: it's reported to have a 4.6-inch screen, adding 0.3 inches to the RAZR in order to accommodate onscreen buttons. This suggests that, like the buttonless Galaxy Nexus, it'll be shipping with Ice Cream Sandwich.
The phone is also rumored to have a 3,300mAh battery like that of the Droid RAZR Maxx and to come with a 720p display like the one seen on Chinese RAZR variants. With little to go on besides the image, we can hardly take this as authoritative. However, the battery on the RAZR Maxx was widely praised, and the low-quality screen was one of the worst features of the RAZR line, so it would make sense for Motorola to focus on these aspects. If the phone really is slated for mid-April, we'll certainly find out soon enough.
