Virgin Mobile USA customers take note: you're not crazy, the network is in fact down. The company's official Twitter account confirmed just now that both text messages and data are out across the entire country. No word yet on what the specific issue is or when it will be resolved, but the engineers are apparently on it.
We're currently experiencing a national data & text messaging outage. Our engineers are working to resolve it. Thank you for your patience.

Virgin Mobile USA is an MVNO operating on Sprint's network, so this particular outage is surely unrelated to the network issues that Verizon has been dealing with of late and we're assuming it's also related to Virgin's plans to begin implementing data throttling later this week for customers who use more than 2.5GB of data in a month. That's cold comfort to Virgin's customers, who are standing by waiting to see when they'll be able to do more than just make phone calls. We'll keep an eye and let you know when we hear more.
