If you'd like to catch a glimpse of the second planet from the Sun with your own naturally grown optics, today's the day: Space reports that Venus will be visible in broad daylight at 4PM today, local time. You'll have to shield yourself from directly looking at the sun, which Venus never appears to stray very far from, by positioning yourself behind a solid object. Once you've done that, you're instructed to "face due south, and look two-thirds of the way up the sky towards overhead," where you'll see Venus as a tiny pinpoint of light just above the moon.
