Apple CEO Tim Cook ended today's iPad keynote with a heartfelt thanks for everybody who works at Apple and supports Apple, but he didn't stop there. In an uncharacteristic forward-looking statement (we're only kind of kidding) from the usually tight-lipped exec, Tim Cook said "Across the year, you're going to see a lot more of this kind of innovtation." He was referring to the "beautiful, integrated" announcements from today — and it's hard to argue that a Retina Display and reimagined versions of iMovie and iPhoto aren't just that. Behind him was Kubrick-esque sunrise, with "2012: There's a lot to look forward to" emblazoned across it.

So, what other sorts of "beautiful, integrated" products do we have to look forward to this year? Obviously there's Mountain Lion, but anything else? Today's Apple TV refresh was a mere footnote in the proceedings, and hardly the industry-shifting device people were hoping for — is it a setup for something more? Only Tim knows, and we've got nine whole months of 2012 left to find out. Here's the full quote:

"Only Apple could deliver this kind of innovation in such a beautiful, integrated way. It's what we love to do. It's what we stand for. Across the year, you're going to see a lot more of this kind of innovation. We are just getting started."
