RIM has just announced that upcoming updates to Facebook and Twitter for BlackBerry smartphones will connect them with BBM — letting users share status updates and chat with BBM contacts within the apps. Each app will contain a "share with BBM" button, and users will also be able to share tweets and status updates with BBM contacts from a centralized location.

BBM integration will also appear in the BlackBerry travel app, allowing users to update BBM contacts with their travel status. And BlackBerry's music app, which is already equipped with BBM, will be updated to allow users to mark favorite songs and playlists for a "more personalized shuffle." RIM says that version 3.0 of the Facebook and Twitter apps, and updates for other BBM apps will roll out over the next 10 days, but note that the service won't be available for the PlayBook, which still lacks any BBM functionality.
