Android users who subscribe to Time Warner Cable can finally stream live TV to their smartphones and tablets — provided that those tablets are running Android 4.0. It's been over five months since TWC revealed that it would take some time to get streaming ready for Android, and we found out last week that the long wait was due to some difficulties in developing live video for Android, but those difficulties appear to have been overcome. The updated app is available in the Google Play store now, but you'll only be able to stream to your Android device if you're on your home wireless network, so you won't be streaming any live TV while traveling. While this is a common limitation for most cable provider streaming TV apps, it doesn't make it any less of a disappointment.

Update: Android Police reports that the app doesn't work on rooted devices. Apparently the security of Android 4.0 alone wasn't good enough for Time Warner.
