Spotify has just announced that its expanding to Australia and New Zealand starting today. But instead of simply making its service accessible in the two countries, Spotify has added some goodies to the package. Spotify has just announced that it's expanding to Australia and New Zealand starting today, a few months after it announced availability in Germany. All three tiers of Spotify (free, unlimited, and premium) will be available in New Zealand and Australia, as will two exclusive Spotify apps: "Triple J" in Australia, and "NZ Top 40" in New Zealand, which each showcase popular new music in each country. The company also created a "G'day Australia" playlist for Australia and a "Kia Ora New Zealand" playlist for New Zealand to welcome new users. In comparison, chief competitor Rdio has been in New Zealand, Australia, and Germany since January of this year. There are still no signs of a Spotify launch in Ireland, though we heard rumors back in March that it would launch alongside Australia imminently.
