Media-streaming app Plex will come preinstalled on Sony's next-generation Google TV devices. A specialized version of the Plex app, aptly titled Plex for Sony Internet TV, appeared on Google play a few days ago. Since then, the description has been updated to read, "this Application is ONLY available for download on late model 2012 Sony Internet TVs." GigaOM reached out to Plex and confirmed that the media center software will come preinstalled on Sony TV devices to be released this year but provided no other information. Sony's NSZ-GP9 Blu-ray player and NSZ-GS7 media streamer will be released this summer in the U.S. and in other countries around the world in 2012.
