Apple updated iOS to 5.1.1 earlier this month with several minor feature additions, but the build for the GSM iPhone 4 may have needed some additional work: the company has begun distributing a new version of the upgrade. The Next Web reports that iPhone hacker iH8sn0w posted about the update on Twitter; the new version uses build number 9B208 instead of the 9B206 used in the prior version. It's not clear just what the update provides, though the timing is certainly interesting, with today's release of Absinthe providing untethered jailbreaks for all iOS devices on 5.1.1, including the new iPad. GSM iPhone 4 users that have already upgraded to 5.1.1 won't be able to receive the update over the air, but should you want to make sure you're on the latest build you can download it direct from Apple. No updated builds for the rest of Apple's iOS lineup have surfaced as of yet, but we'll keep you appraised should anything else develop.
Was just about to push sn0wbreeze 2.9.4 and Apple pushes 5.1.1 (9B208) for the iPhone 4 (GSM) only. I wonder what changed...
