Huawei is trying to make a name for itself in the high-end smartphone market, and the company's just revealed the next phase of that plan. Unfortunately for lovers of pure vanilla Android, the next step appears to be a custom skin called Emotion UI. Details are scarce, but Chinese reporters got ahold of an invitation for a June 9th announce event, and Huawei CEO Yu Chengdong says that the new UI should be available as an upgrade starting in July. Here's hoping the interface is opt-in or opt-out: At first blush, one of the things we loved most about the Huawei Ascend P1 and Ascend D series was the ability to completely turn off their "3D Home" UI for a stock Android 4.0 experience, and we'd love to have the same choice here.
