Back in March, there was a bit of controversy over whether Rovio's record-setting Angry Birds Space would ever make its way to Windows Phone. First, Rovio's CMO stated the game wasn't coming to Windows Phone, a statement contradicted just hours later by Rovio's CEO. Unsurprisingly, the CEO was correct on this issue — a Nokia press release highlighting new app partnerships for the Lumia line and Windows Phone in general contanied a note that Angry Birds Space was indeed heading to Microsoft's mobile platform. Rovio CEO Mikael Hed is quoted as saying "Nokia is one of our longest-standing partners, and Windows Phone and Lumia are of strategic importance to Rovio. We are very committed to bring our games to Lumia devices, and are looking forward to delighting our fans on the Windows Phone platform."

While we may never know what the original confusion was about, it seems all Windows Phone users will soon be able to fling pigs through space on their devices of choice. There's no specific release date given, but Rovio's working to launch more games on Windows Phone "as soon as possible." In addition, Nokia and Rovio are partnering on "innovative new consumer products and content exclusively for Nokia Lumia smartphones," though there's no indication of what that exclusive content may be yet.
