Owners of 3G-equipped Lenovo ThinkPad laptops will now be able to cut out the middle man and buy mobile internet access from the company itself. Lenovo Mobile Access is available from today, and allows you to buy access time in increments of 30 minutes (30MB, $1.95) and 1 day (200MB, $8.95), with 2GB and 6GB 1 month packages also available. The service is being provided in collaboration with Macheen, and ThinkPad owners will still be able to connect through other carriers.

The move is designed to bolster the ThinkPad's credentials among business users, who'll no doubt appreciate the ability to stay connected without worrying about Wi-Fi or dongles. You can use Lenovo Mobile Access with "select models" of ThinkPad Classic and ThinkPad Edge laptops, and the service is available in ten countries including the US, UK, Ireland, France, and Germany.
