Nostalgic for the sound of your old typewriter? Have an inner hipster that is? F.A.T. Lab's Theo Watson has created an app for OS X called Noisy Typer, which runs in the background and recreates the sounds of a traditional typewriter while you type in any program. Even though it can't replicate the satisfying feeling is pressing down keys on a typewriter, the program plays unique sounds for letter keys, the spacebar, backspace, return, scroll up, and scroll down. The software is free and open source, and was built using openFrameworks 0071. You can download the app and its source code at F.A.T. Labs, and remember: all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
