The Android 4.0 upgrade status for the HTC Desire HD has changed yet again. After carrier Telus explained that Ice Cream Sandwich would not reach the device due to "poor device performance," an HTC spokesperson responded by saying the company was "still on schedule" to deliver the upgrade. Now, HTC has updated its own list of devices confirmed to get Android 4.0 by crossing out the Desire HD and adding the following footnote:
After extensive testing, we’ve determined that the current version of HTC Sense with Android provides customers with the best experience on the HTC Desire HD. When we consider new versions of software, we weigh a number of factors, but ultimately the customer experience on the product is the deciding factor. We apologize for any confusion this change may have caused our customers.
Despite the previous double back by HTC regarding the Desire HD, this looks like a final decision.
