Spotify announced earlier today that it now has over 15 million active users and more than 4 million paying subscribers, according to The Next Web. The news was delivered by Spotify's Chief Content Officer Ken Parks during the Global Business Summit on Creative Content in London, and represents a one million subscriber improvement over the figures we saw back in January.

Today's announcement comes shortly after Spotify congratulated its US users on a successful first year, and after both iPhone and Android versions of the music-streaming app have been updated with free internet radio. Competition in the music streaming arena is heating up and moving out, so if Spotify intends to continue its current bout of success, it'll have to stay on its toes.
