LG is planning to release its monstrous Optimus Vu in the United States during the third quarter of this year, pitting it against the Samsung Galaxy Note (and its successor). The company has not specified what carriers will sell the device, but recent leaks suggest that Verizon will be at least one of the companies handling it in the US. In case the Vu's specifications have slipped your mind, the oddly-shaped 4:3 ratio device is equipped with a 5-inch, 1024 x 768 IPS display, a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor, an 8-megapixel camera, LTE connectivity, and is expected to be pre-loaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Until pricing's announced we won't know how deep your pockets need to be, but they'll certainly need to be wide if you're going to buy the Vu.
